SCUBA Diver 2 - The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver & Enriched Air Specialty Course(s) April-July

Advancded Padi Open Water Course - Diver ascending SCUBA Diver 2 is a practical course in more advanced diving that allows participants to increase their level of knowledge and understanding about themselves and their diving.

Participants who successfully complete the classroom and pool work for SCUBA Diver 2 will satisfy the requirements for certification as a PADI Enriched Air Diver, and will also qualify for an Open Water certification experience. Successful completion of the Advanced Open Water experience will result in one of the following certifications: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy, or PADI Multilevel Diver. Class size is limited to 10 students. Venturetrek schedules several instructor led trips throughout the year and qualifying students can register for any of these. Please note that certification trips are not included in the course fee.
TOPICS INCLUDE:

Nitrox Diving - (Physics and Physiology, Equipoment and Operational Issues, Dive Planning)

Environmental Considerations - (Deeper Diving, Night and/or Limited Visibility Diving)

Advanced Dive Planning - (Depth and Gas Planning, Multilevel Profiles, Contingency Planning)

Speciality Equipment - (Underwater Lights, Guidelines and Reels, Surface Marker Buoys-SMBs)

Skills Development - (Advanced Buoyancy Control, Propulsion and Gas Consumption, Use of Lights, Reels, and SMBs)

COURSE MATERIALS - Students will each receive the PADI "Adventures in Diving" Manual (current edition) and the PADI "Enriched Air Diving" manual (current edition).

PREREQUISITES Participants must be certified and current as Open Water, Adventure, or Advanced Open Water Divers), age 16 or older OR must complete the SCUBA Diver 1 course.
