Adult CPR and AED - (May 5th 2012)

CPR imageWhen a person experiences Sudden Cardiac Arrest, the first 4-8 minutes are the most critical for staring effective treatment. Participants in this course will learn techniques for providing Basic Life Support, including victim assessment, airway management, andone-person Adult CPR. Use of an Automated External Defibrillator is also covered.American Heart Association Logo
Participants who successfully complete this course will receive industry standard certification from either the American Heart Association or National Safety Council. Certification will be valid for two years. Class size is limited to 10 students.

COURSE MATERIALS - Students will each receive CPR and AED manual from either the National Safety Council or the Heart Association.

PREREQUISITES Participants must be age 16 or older.

12:15 - 12:30 PM Introduction
12:30 - 1:00 PM BLS Practice - CPR &AED
1:00 - 1:30 PM Assessing the Scene & VictIm
1:30 - 2:00 PM Choking Emergencies
2:00 - 2:30 PM Managing a Heart Attack
2:30 - 3:00 PM Body Substance Isolation
3:00 - 3:30 PM Written Exam
