Rescue Diver 1 - The PADI Rescue Diver Course - (May 4th thru 13th)

Rescue Beach Egres Rescue Diver 1 covers techniques for managing SCUBA emergencies and diving-related accidents. Participants will learn to recognize and avoid situations in which a SCUBA rescue may be needed, as well as techniques for dealing with the consequences of a SCUBA diving accident or injury when it occurs. Emphasis is placed on both individual rescue skills, as well as team-oriented exercises involving multiple victims and rescuers. Participants who successfully complete the classroom, pool work and open water experience will result in an industry recognized and accepted certification at the level of Rescue Diver. Class size is limited to 10 students.

  • Diving Illnesses - (Types and Causes, Signs and Symptoms, Treatment)
  • Diving Accidents - (Understanding Causes of Accidents, Recognition and Assessment)
  • Emergency Response and Accident Avoidance)
  • Diving Emergencies - (Coordinating the Rescue Effort, Managing the Scene)
  • Search and Recovery
  • Handling Injured Divers - (Approaches and Stabilization, Egress and Evacuation)
  • Handling and responnding to emergencies at the Surface and Underwater
  • Rescue Skills Development - (Snorkeling and Diver Rescues, In-Water Resuscitation)
  • Accident Scenario Practice

  • COURSE MATERIALS - Students will each receive the PADI Rescue Diver Manual.

    PREREQUISITES Participants must be certified and current in Adult CPR (within 12 months), First Aid (within 12 months), Oxygen Provider (within 12 months), Marine First Aid (within 12 months), certified Advanced Open Water Diver (age 16 and up) with 10 dives OR certified Open Water Diver (age 16 and up) with 15 dives
